Old Maid and SmartMouth

Happy Hump Day :)

We have really been enjoying our homemade playdoh this week!  Keegan, Trae and Eliot played with it this morning first thing.

We also played in the tent, the dollhouse, and with our new matchbox cars :)

After breakfast we read books, then our line leader Eliot read his book to us.

Our theme this week is Songs and Games, and our letter of the week is N.  Our special song today was 10 Little Monkeys :)

We sang our morning songs and said the pledge, then Eliot updated the calendar and we counted all the way to 19!

We sang Days of the Week and Macarena Months- then we each picked a favorite stretch.  This is "backwards pushups" :)

After Circle Time we set out the tables for writing time.

We practiced writing N and n, our names, letters, and drew pictures of houses today :)

At outside and learning activity time we went on a neighborhood walk.  We practiced left and right, "rules of the road", talked about colors and shapes, signs and letters on signs, and had a great adventure :)

Our games of the day today were SmartMouth and Old Maid.  At the SmartMouth station we took turns saying the letter or the letter sounds.  When we got enough letters in our piles we tried to make words :)

At the Old Maid station we picked 8 pairs, mixed them up and passed them out.  We paired up and turned over any in our piles that already matched, then we took turns looking at everyones cards to find a match for one of ours then describing the card to the person and asking for it.  When all the cards were matched up we won the game! It's always great to play as a team instead of opponents :)

When we finished a few rounds at each station we had time for free play until lunch.  We played cars, construction, and inside catch with ping pong balls :)

Tomorrow is Field Trip day!  We are going to the KS History Museum (aka The Cowboy Place).  We are going to have a picnic there too!
